Trip highlights

Visit the first group of churches, built by the symbol of the earthly Jerusalem. Continue visiting the 2nd group of churches will visit the most famous cross-shaped churches of –St George. Views on the way to the mountain monastery Asheten Maryam Visit the famous cave church of Yimrehane Kristos Visit of Na’akueto La’ab hewn out of a rock cave.

 

In the morning flight fly from Addis Ababa to Lalibela, at Lalibela Airport Enter Ethiopia representative, meet you and transfer to your Hotel. Then you will start to Visit the amazing rock-hewn church of Lalibela rated as the eighth wonder of the world by many authors. Have a visit to the first group of churches, built by the symbol of the earthly Jerusalem before lunchtime.
After lunch visiting continues the 2nd group of churches, the four churches south of the Jordan River, built by the symbol of heavenly Jerusalem. Finally, we will visit the most famous of all the churches – Bete Giyorgis, constructed in honor of the patron saint of Ethiopia, Saint George. In the evening attend the traditional coffee ceremony in the hotel with Ethiopian hospitality.

On this day, visit the Monastery if needed take a mule trek to the Asheten Maryam Monastery. The views on the way to the mountain monastery Asheten Maryam is overwhelming, and we will take breaks and photos in this place. After visiting the monastery church of Asheten Maryam and back in Lalibela town, drive 42 k/m to the famous cave church of Yimrehane Kristos.

After having visited all the churches, go visit the villages in Lalibela where we will get invited for the famous Ethiopia traditional coffee ceremony, and traditional Tej Bet (Honey Wine bar), here you will enjoy our traditional music and dance live.
