Day 1 Addis Ababa - Ambo

Addis Ababa - Ambo

Morning Meet Odowa Tour Operators representative drive to Ambo on the way visit the Menagesha forest which is one of the oldest reforestation projects in the country. Have a short hike through the beautiful old forest. Later, you pass through the city of Addis Alem, where Emperor Menelik II wanted to build the new capital because of fire wood shortages in Addis Ababa. We Visit the Mariyam church and the museum in Addis Alem. Reaching in Ambo we Visit the Gouder Falls in the vicinity of Ambo.

Day 2 Ambo - Weliso

Ambo - Weliso

Morning after breakfast Have a hike or even a horse ride at the Wenchi Crater Lake and take a boat trip to the Cherkos island monastery that is believed to have been established by King Zerea Yacob in the 15th century. Drive on to Weliso. Dinner will be in the lodge.

Day 3 Weliso - Jimma

Weliso - Jimma

In the morning drive from Weliso to Jimma via Welkite passing all around the scenic Gibe dam. City tour in Jimma featured with visit of the Jimma museum, the Abba Jiffar palace, the former King of Jimma and the fascist architectures.

Day 4 Jimma- Bonga - Mizan Teferi

Jimma- Bonga - Mizan Teferi

After an early morning breakfast we will drive to Bonga the birth place of coffee. Bonga is in ancient Kingdom of Kaffa, the birthplace of coffee and upon arrival at Bonga, We will have opportunity to visit a traditional Kaffa house and learn about the culture of the Kaffa people. Then visit the Wushwush tea plantation, also pass through the Belete Forest, where we can visit the Colobus monkeys. We will have lunch at Bonga. After lunch drive to Mizan Teferi.

Day 5 Mizan Teferi - Bebeka Coffee Plantation

Mizan Teferi - Bebeka Coffee Plantation

Morning after breakfast drive to Bebeka, check-in into Bebeka guest house and take some rest then explore the coffee plantation from seedling to Coffee Bean. Taste the Ethiopian Coffee Arabic at Bebeka. After lunch we start visit the largest and oldest Coffee Plantation in Ethiopia covering some 6,000.
Note: - We would recommend having a picnic lunch since Bebeka is a coffee plantation and lunch time reaches while we are in the plantation or we will have a late lunch in Bebeka.

Day 6 Bebeka - Metu

Bebeka - Metu

Drive from Bebeka to Metu via Tepi on a scenic route through wild forests and tea and coffee plantations Mizan Teferi, and proceed driving to Metu.

Day 7 Metu - Gambella

Metu - Gambella

Continue from Metu to Gambella via Bure. Visit the Sor Waterfalls within a short drive and a small hike. After passing Bure, will drive on further descend into the Baro valley to the steamy hot humid Western Lowlands of Gambella. Finally, arriving in the town of Gambella, set on the bank of the Baro River.

Day 8 Excursion into the Gambela National Park

Excursion into the Gambela National Park

Today, full day will explore the Gambella National Park, heading south to Lake Alwara and Lake Tata is also known as Gesi Hayk. Gambella National Park is the most remote National Park in Ethiopia and is full of interesting and unique wildlife including the shoebill stork as well as Elephants, Baboons, Buffalo, Lion, Antelope and Monkeys. Lake Tata is home to local Anuak people, and you will camp nearby their village. On the way visit some of the villages of the local tribe’s Anuak and Nuer, famous for their body scarifications.

Day 9 City Tour in Gambella

City Tour in Gambella

Short city tour in Gambella and flight back to Addis Ababa (flight is not available daily). Free afternoon or city tour in Addis Ababa, and in the evening have a farewell dinner at one of the best traditional restaurants of Addis where you can taste the variety of Ethiopian meals, and see the folkloric dance of the Ethiopians. Then you will be transferred to the airport for your departure.
